We are excited to announce that the St. Paul’s Hospital Endoscopy Unit is the first hospital-based international awardee of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program (EURP). Assuring quality in endoscopy is of paramount importance to us. This recognition reflects our team’s ongoing commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based and patient-centred endoscopic care.
Under the supervision of Dr. Neal Shahidi and the SPARC research team, undergraduate student Yaseen Mandoub Hashemi explored hereditary polyposis syndrome awareness and preventive care outcomes through the 2025 UBC FoM SSRP.
Dr. Eric Lam is a certified instructor in the Skills Enhancement in Endoscopy program at the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology. He developed a pilot program along with support from the local hospitals and community partners to bring endoscopy skills enhancement to Cranbrook and Fernie.
